About Us

Healthy HCPS is a resource for Hillsborough County Public Schools’ students and parents to learn about health and find local and national resources.  This website was created because the school district saw a need when reviewing county data.  In 2017, Hillsborough County had the 30th highest rate of bacterial STDs among 13-19 year olds in Florida.  In addition, Hillsborough had the 20th highest rate of new HIV cases among 13-19 year olds in Florida.  Our goal is to decrease sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV, and unplanned pregnancy among adolescents. Through these efforts, we are working with community partners to improve surveillance, sexual health education, sexual health services, and safe and supportive environments among our youth.
